PRAGUE, 22 July 2019: Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has praised historical ties between his country and Egypt, urging further efforts to boost relations under Prague’s presidency of Visegrád Group.

He made his statements on Sunday at a reception held by Egypt’s embassy in the Czech Republic to mark the 67th anniversary of the Egyptian July 23rd Revolution.

The event hosted by Egypt’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic Said Hendam, was attended by president of the Czech Senate Jaroslav Kubera and a raft of senior Czech officials alongside a number of Arab and foreign diplomats and key members of the Egyptian community, among others.

In his word to mark the occasion, ambassador Hendam said the July 23rd Revolution has helped in achieving Arab and African unity and supported the liberation movements of African countries, hailing the strong diplomatic ties between Cairo and Prague.

Kubera lauded Egypt’s pivotal role in the Middle East , expressing appreciation of its vital efforts and important contributions to ensure the stability and security of the region.
