Sisi issues decree to build new private university near Cairo

CAIRO - 18 July 2019: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi issued Tuesday Presidential Decree No. 336/2019 on establishing a private university headquartered at Kilo 3 on Cairo-Belbeis Desert Road under the name of Heliopolis University.

The university will include faculties of engineering, administration and economics, physiotherapy, bio-agriculture and pharmacy.

Based on the presidential decree that was published in the official gazette, additional colleges can be established at the university as well as specialized institutes and research units after taking appropriate legal measures.

The president stressed in the presidential decree that making a profit is not the main purpose of establishing the university.
