CAIRO - 6 July 2019: Chancellor Abdullah Assr was sworn in on Saturday in the presence of President Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi as the new head of the Court of Cassation, less than a month after the Egyptian leader ratified a law regulating the appointment of top judges in accordance with recently passed constitutional amendments.
Essam Ed-Din Fahim El Menshawy was also sworn in as head of the Administrative Prosecution Authority, replacing Amani Mohamed Badr Al Refai.
According to a presidency statement, President Sisi, during a meeting with the two officials, stressed the importance of continuing to work to empower citizens, ensure their freedoms and familiarize them with their duties in accordance with the constitution and law.
President Sisi granted merits of the state to former head of the Cassation Court Magy Abo El-Eila and former head of the Administrative Prosecution Authority Amany El-Rafei.
