CAIRO - 2 July 2019: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli held a meeting with both minister of antiquities and housing to follow up on the renovation of Fustat and Historic Cairo.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Mostafa Waziri, chief of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Madbouli reviewed the renovation efforts of the museum of Egypt's new Alamein City.

Madbouli discussed with the officials plans to renovate the area surrounding the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo's Ainas-Seirah. Minister of Antiquities Khaled al-Anany reviewed the development efforts carried out in accordance with the directives of Madbouli during his tour in the region on June 16.

Anany stressed that the work in the area is carried out in accordance with the plan, to show this area in a way that is appropriate to such archaeological place.

Moreover, Madbouli directed creating an urgent plan to improve the historical Al-Moezstreet in Cairo.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi ordered earlier upgrading the tourist attractions, including museums nationwide, in a way that reflects the history and civilization of the North African country, according to a statement by presidential spokesman Bassam Radi.

This came during the Sisi’s meeting with Madbouli and Anani in May.

During the meeting, President Sisi referred to the plan to transfer royal mummies from Tahrir’s Egyptian Museum to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, affirming the importance to highlight such event in a suitable way that befits the ancient heritage of Egypt.
