CAIRO – 8 June 2017: General Manager of the Veterinary Quarantine Services at Cairo International Airport has been referred to public prosecution over bribery accusations.

The unnamed general manager was arrested on Wednesday, accused of taking bribes of up to LE 100,000, according to an official statement.

An investigation had revealed that the general manager took a bribe from a private sector company to facilitate the release of imported veterinary vaccines.

On May 5, a police officer was arrested on charges of bribing a soldier to issue five exit visas to a group of Sudanese citizens.
