Chairman of Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights Ayman Okail
CAIRO - 23 June 2019: Members of Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights are taking part in the 41st Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) held in Geneva on June 24 - July 12.
The session will be attended by delegates belonging to four organizations, including the aforementioned one. The three other organizations are the International Coalition for Peace and Development, Partnership for Transparency, and the Global Human Rights Consultants (LLC). In addition, 26 delegates from Egypt, Kenya, Somalia, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Switzerland, and Latvia will participate in the session.
The session’s agenda includes the return of terrorist militants to their homelands in Europe, Africa, and the Arab World, and the possibility to rehabilitate them. Certain meetings will be on corruption in the Middle East, and the impact of corruption on women rights.
Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights was founded in 2005 and is affiliated to Maat Center for Juridical and Constitutional Studies. Its main objective is raising awareness on peace, democracy and human rights, and means to combat corruption, crime and violence. The foundation also provides training services for young NGOs’ workers.
CAIRO - 26 February 2019: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed to Geneva on Tuesday to deliver a speech to the 40th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), according to a ministerial statement published on their official Facebook account.
