CAIRO - 11 June 2019: The Foreign Ministry's consular section has completed the first phase of a project aiming to introduce an electronic visa application system in several countries.
This move is part the government's efforts to facilitate the procedures of issuing visas for foreign visitors with a view to promote inbound tourism, the ministry said in a press release on Monday.
Moreover, coordination is underway between the ministry and the bodies concerned to provide the implementation framework as well as the time schedule of the project's second phase, the ministry added.
The project includes the launch of an E-visa portal at (www.visa2egypt.gov.eg), which supports eight languages, enabling applicants to get their visas after providing the information required and paying for the new service via credit or debit cards, the ministry noted.
The first phase covers 46 nationalities.
