CAIRO – 10 June 2019: Pope Tawadros II, pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, inaugurated on Monday Virgin Mary Church in Menoufia governorate's Sadat City, northern Egypt.
He also inaugurated the altar of the church under the name of Virgin Mary name and another altar under the name of Anba Michael along with the baptism altar under the name of Bishop Pachomius, Bishop of Beheira.

Pope Tawadros II announced earlier forming a new eparchy in South Africa, affirming that Egypt attaches great importance to Africa in light of its presidency of the African Union.
During his sermon on Sunday, Pope Tawadros said that Bishop Antonius Marcus has been ordained an archbishop in South Africa.
Also, a number of bishops were ordained to serve in Egypt and a number of countries.
