CAIRO, June 9 (MENA) - The manpower committee of parliament approved in principle a draft law submitted by the government to set a minimum limit to periodic raises given to civil servants.
The aim is to maintain equality and justice among administrative workers, according to a memo annexed with the bill.
The government has set a minimum of 75 pounds monthly to maximize benefit from raises.
Under the bill, civil servants are also entitled to a monthly bonus worth 150 pounds.
It also maintains a minimum seven percent periodic raise to be given to civil servants.
Non civil servants should, under the draft law, receive a 10 percent raise as of June 30.
