Burkina Faso's Kabore, Egypt's Parliament Speaker meet

CAIRO – 9 June 2017: Visiting Burkina Faso's President Roch Marc Christian Kabore pointed out his keenness on boosting relations with Egypt, including implementing projects in health, agriculture and education fields, promote military cooperation to combat terrorism and enhance parliamentary cooperation between Egypt and Burkina Faso.

For his part, speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel-Aal discussed with Kabore means of boosting relations between Egypt and Burkina Faso in all various domains, as well as reviewing the latest developments in African countries.

Meanwhile, Abdel-Aal hailed the participation of the top parliamentarians of Burkina Faso in a ceremony held by the Egyptian House of Representatives marking its 150 anniversary of setting up the Parliament in Egypt.

Abdel-Aal emphasized the importance of facing legal emigration as well as stamping out terrorism threatening world countries.

House of Representatives speaker acquainted Kabore with Egypt's intention to play an important role in keeping security stability in West Africa and Cote d'Ivoire, stressing on getting rid of extremist ideologies and stick to the moderate Muslim teachings of Al-Azhar.

On an international level, Abdel-Aal called on Kabore to support Egypt's nominee for UNISCO’s top post, Moshira Khattab.

Furthermore, Kabore expressed his appreciation for the well reception, asserting the solid relations combining his country with Egypt.

The meeting came as part of Kabore's visit to Egypt, where he met with his Egyptian counterpart President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Wednesday.

Parliamentarian Moustafa el-Gendy head of the Parliament's committee of African Affairs attended the meeting.
