CAIRO, May 20 (MENA) - The Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) will launch the first edition of the "Arab Government Excellence Award" during a ceremony to be held at the Arab League (AL) premises in Cairo on Thursday.

The award is sponsored by Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The event will witness the inking of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the organization and the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, Director General of ARADO Nasser Al Qahtani said in a statement.

A press conference is also expected to be held jointly by UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future Abdullah Al Gergawi and Qahtani after the inking ceremony.

The award seeks to bring forth significant improvement in the government performance of all Arab countries and stimulate competitiveness and knowledge sharing among Arab government institutions, Qahtani pointed out.

Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit and Saudi Minister of Civil Service Abdullah Al-Hamdan will attend the ceremony along with a host of ambassadors of several Arab states.
