Egypt hosts large number of migrants: Head of IOM

CAIRO - 20 May 2019: Head of International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in Egypt Laurent de Bock said Monday that Egypt has hosted many migrants for decades which made it a culturally rich country.

This came on the sidelines of an IOM Iftar attended by Ambassador Moushira Khattab. Boek said that the event demonstrates the strength of the partnership and friendship between the organization and the Egyptian state.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), including project development officerCharles de Leon,and a number of foreign ambassadors in Egypt, including ambassadors of Indonesia, Albania, Argentina, Ireland, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Peru, Panama, Afghanistan and Thailand.Representatives from the Foreign Ministry, International Cooperation Ministry, Planning Ministry, and Justice Ministrywere also in attendance.
