CAIRO, May 18 (MENA) - President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Saturday ordered further studied to be conducted to maximize Waqf assets and investment returns.
Meeting Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, the president said such studied should be made in cooperation experts and specialists taking into account the legal and sharia controls, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.
The meeting also reviewed efforts made by the Awqad Ministry in the fields of advocacy, translation, publishing, training imams, especially regarding to correct misconceptions and spread the jurisprudence of state building and patriotic character.
Activities of the Ministry of Awqaf in the service of the community were also reviewed.
Sisi tasked the Awqaf Ministry with maximizing specialized training programs for imams, expanding translation and publishing projects and developing the sacrifice vouchers (Adahi Sukuk) project.
