CAIRO, May 18 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted Egypt's solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia against all attempts seeking to undermine the kingdom's security and stability as well as the Gulf region in general.

Meeting with Saudi Ambassador in Cairo Osama Nugali, President Sisi confirmed the strong brotherly ties and well-established relations binding Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Sisi said the current joint challenges dictates the need for close coordination with an aim to address all threats targeting the Arab national security and regional stability.

During the meeting, the president asked Nuqali to convey his greetings to Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Meanwhile, the Saudi ambassador handed over Sisi an invitation from King Salman to attend the 14th session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit, set to be held in late May in Mecca city.

Nugali as well voiced his country's deep appreciation for the Egyptian firm stance in support of the kingdom against the recent attacks that targeted two Saudi oil pumping stations in Riyadh.
