CAIRO - 18 May 2019: Hundreds of the Libyan National Army (LNA) supporters have forcibly disappeared, and hundreds others arbitrarily detained by militias allied with the Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli, the LNA claimed in a Friday statement.
Around 180 people have been detained at a farm known as “al-Majdoub” on Sudra road by Misurata militias, according to the media office of the LNA.
The farm also hosts an operation room for some of the militias, the LNA said, adding that this is not the first time forces affiliated with the GNA have arrested people only for their support of the army.
The LNA launched a campaign on April 4 to “liberate Tripoli from terrorists.” However, the GNA has fiercely resisted the LNA’s advance thus far.
