Alexandria univ. launches hashtag campaign "Know your university history" on Facebook

ALEXANDRIA, Egypt, May 14 (MENA) - President of Alexandria University Essam el Kordi has launched a hashtag campaign, titled "#Know your university history" on Facebook.

Kordi said that through the social media campaign photos and information about the history of Alexandria University will be published weekly.

Alexandria University is a public university in Alexandria city. It was established in 1938 as a satellite of Fouad University, becoming an independent entity in 1942.

It was known as Farouk University until the Egyptian Revolution of 1952 when its name was changed to the University of Alexandria.
