CAIRO - 14 May 2019: The Libyan House of Representatives voted Tuesday on banning the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and classifying it as a terrorist group during a Parliament's session held in Tabruk city, according to Al Arabiya news channel.
This decision came based on the Muslim Brotherhood's crimes against the Libyan army and its incitement against the parliament, as well as its support for the armed militias in Tripoli.
Seventy members of Libya's eastern-based House of Representatives (Parliament) voted on banning.
In 15 April 2019, The Libyan House of Representatives held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Aqila Saleh after a truce between Libyan National Army led by Khalifa Haftar and the current government led by Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj was announced.
The Muslim Brotherhood group has been designated as a terrorist group in several country, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Russia.
