Priest shot dead by Church worker

CAIRO - 13 May 2019: Priest Makar Saad of St. Mark’s Church in Shubra was shot dead by a 45 year old worker called Kamal Shawky who fired three bullets at the priest in his room.

The victim had promised to provide financial assistance for the worker who needed money to fund his daughters’ marriages but did not fulfill his promise. As the defendant was reproaching the priest, a fight occurred and he gunned the priest down.

The defendant is being interrogated while the body was transferred to the hospital.
