CAIRO - 12 May 2019: Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in a statement issued Sunday, the terrorist attack against a Catholic church in Burkina Faso that left six killed including a priest.

The statement wished a speedy recovery for those who were wounded by the attack, voicing Egyptian people's solidarity with the people of Burkina Faso.

The statement asserted that atrocities and terrorism against worship houses will not realize their goals.

Authorities in the West Africa country said gunmen have attacked a Catholic church earlier on Sunday, killing a priest and five worshipers.

The area where the attack took place is known to be a location for armed extremist groups.
