Pope Tawadros II leads the Christmas mass in the new Administrative Capital – Egypt Today
CAIRO - 12 May 2019: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese led on Sunday a mass in Germany during the inauguration of Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Dusseldorf.
The Pope later held a dialogue with attenders, and answered their religious questions. The Pope called on the German people to visit Egypt and read its rich human history that combines the Ancient Egyptian, Coptic and Islamic civilizations.
The Pope has been to Germany in October as he launched the church in Dusseldorf and visited the Coptic monastery located in the same city. The Pope met during that visit with the priests of the Egyptian churches in Germany as well as a number of German public and political figures. The Pope also held a meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
