CAIRO – 5 May 2019: Scorching hot weather could prevail in Egypt on the first day of Holy Ramadan, during which Muslims worldwide will abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to sunset, according to a statement by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
The hot wave will end on May 10, with temperature in Cairo hitting highs of 37 °C, according to a statement
Hot weather will prevail in southern governorates, while coastal cities will witness colder weather where low clouds could gather, the statement added.
The first day of the holy month of Ramadan will fall on Monday, May 6, said Mohamed Gharib, a professor of solar research at the National Institute of Astronomical Research Saturday.
