CAIRO – 30 April 2019: Two teenage sisters died in Sohag'sGirga and four others were injured as a house made of clay and mud-bricks collapsed, according to security reports on Sunday.

The injured people include a teenage girl, two younger girls, and a 55-year old woman.

Egypt is plagued by unplanned construction and poor infrastructure. There are 400 areas of unplanned housing, with a population in excess of 7 million, according to some statistics.

In March, the Parliament has finally approved a bill submitted by the government on reconciliation in some building violations.

Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal called on MPs to attend today's plenary session to hold a final vote on the draft law.

The bill allows reconciliation in the buildings that were constructed in violation to laws regulating the building process.

The draft law bans reconciliation in cases in which safety standards in construction are not applied.

The government will be able to receive the plea bargains within a period not exceeding six months after the issuance of the statutes of the law.
