Sisi receives Bahrain’s Hamad bin Essa, French FM

CAIRO – 8 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will meet with Bahraini King Hamad bin Essa Al-Khalifa, at Ittihadiya Palace on Thursday.

The two leaders will discuss bilateral relations, the recent developments in the region, especially after escalated crisis with Qatar.

Sisi will also meet with French foreign minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, who intensifies his activities in an attempt to bridge the gap between Arab countries and Qatar.

“We stand alongside the countries of the region in the necessary efforts to intensify the fight against terrorist groups, their supporters and their funding,” Le Drian said Tuesday in official statement. “We are working closely with them to put an end to the crises in the region and to restore peace, security and stability there,” he added.

Le Drian will meet with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry and Minister of Defense Sedki Sobhi, to discuss regional issues, especially the situation in Libya, regarding, as well as the bilateral cooperation.

The French minister will meet with Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, to offer his condolences to him in the wake of the attack in Minya on May 26
