CAIRO - 27 April 2019: South Sinai Governor Major Khaled Fouda named the Middle Road in Sharm el-Sheikh after Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud during celebrations of Sinai Liberation Day on April, 25.
The ceremony of the 37th anniversary of Sinai Liberation Day was attended by a number of senior officials, including Saudi ambassador to Egypt Osama al-Nugali.
Fouda said that naming the road after King Salman is an evidence on the strength of relations between the two countries; adding that the road leads to the branch of King Salman University in Sharm el-Sheikh.
For his part, the Saudi ambassador to Egypt expressed his happiness and gratitude for such move saying, it "boosts ties between the two countries, especially after the successive visits of President Sisi to the Kingdom".
The project is considered one of the main new development axes in the "City of Peace" Sharm El Sheikh, as a first-class touristic model.
The project helps in achieving traffic liquidity in Sharm El Sheikh, and on both the Ring Road and the Peace Road. It was constructed in accordance with the latest international standard.
