CAIRO - 24 April 2019: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi laid wreaths on Wednesday at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the liberation of the Sinai Peninsula.
This came before the president's trip to China to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRFIC).
Also, Defense Minister Ahmed Zaki delegated commanders of field armies and military zones to lay wreaths at the tombs of the Unknown Soldier across Egypt.
Accompanied by the governor of Ismailia, the commander of the second field army laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the city.The commander of the third field army and the governor of Suez also laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Canal city.
Accompanied by the governor of Cairo, the commander of the central military zone laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The commanders of the western and northern military zones also laid wreaths at the tombs of the Unknown Soldier in Assiut. Also, the commander of the southern military zone laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
