CAIRO, April 14 (MENA) - Arab League chief Ahmed Abul-Gheit hailed labor market regulation as a crucial element of the economic system in the Arab world countries.
"Developing the rules of this market, and expanding it to include more young people and women in particular, is no doubt a key objective of most Arab governments facing unemployment rates that exceed their global counterparts," Abul-Gheit told the 46th Arab labor conference.
He warned that the labor market in many Arab countries suffers from many imbalances, the most serious of all is the absence of integration between the labor markets and the output of the educational process.
He also noted that it suffers from shortage in some specialties and in skilled and trained workers in certain disciplines, which necessitates the development of the Arab educational and training policies, and linking them to the labor market.
The pan-Arab body's chief warned also of challenges posed by the 4th industrial revolution and the need of constant training.
He urged putting into effect Arab agreements and recommendations related to the labor market.
