Arab Syrian Army eliminates terrorists hideouts in Northern Hama

CAIRO - 2 April 2019: Terrorists hideouts of Turkistan Islamic Party, and Al Ezza Brigades were destroyed by the Syrian Armed Forces in Northern Hama on Tuesday, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

The hideouts of the former were located in Ankawy and Shorlin villages, while those of the latter were based in the western borders of Kafr Zita town and Latmana village. Turkistan Islamic Party is an extremist organization founded by Uyghur jihadists in western China in 1997, and became active in Syria in 2015.

The Arab Syrian Army’s operations against Al Ezza Brigades, which is a terror group hiring foreign mercenaries, came as a response to the attacks against the military checkpoints and safe zones Northern Hama.

SANA reported that the rocket artillery strikes caused casualties and injuries among the terrorists of Al Ezza Brigades, including the death of a leader called Mohamed Abdel Rahman al-Raey.

Al Ezza Brigades, which was formed in 2013 in Syria and has as stronghold Northern Hama, had earlier launched rocket artillery strikes against residential neighborhoods in Mahardah City in Hama governorate causing the destruction of public and private properties.

On Sunday, the Arab Syrian Army eliminated many terrorists and destroyed their weapons in the eastern borders of Latmana village and the southern borders of Maarkaba village in Northern Hama.
