Al-Azhar slams US statement Golan Heights

CAIRO, March 22 (MENA) - Al-Azhar condemned on Friday the US administration's statement on recognizing Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

In a statement, the highest Islamic Sunni institution said such words represent a green light for occupation authorities to usurp Arab lands and defy UN resolutions which stressed that Golan Heights are occupied lands.

All the Israeli measures related to Golan are illegal, it added.
