CAIRO – 13 March 2019: Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Marie Eriksen arrived Tuesday in Egypt for a two-day visit to meet with several officials to discuss a number of regional issues.

Eriksen is scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to tackle means of boosting bilateral relations between the two sides, especially in the field of investment and economy, and to discuss the latest developments at the regional and international levels.

In September 2018, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi stressed that he is looking forward to enhancing the relations with Norway in all fields. This came during his meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, according to a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.

The meeting also tackled issues of mutual concern as well as means of boosting the bilateral relations in the fields of energy, fisheries, shipping and logistics.
