Cassation Court upholds sentence against police officers

CAIRO - 11 March 2019: The Court of Cassation rejected the appeal of nine police officers who were convicted of killing four persons from one family by mistake and sentenced them to seven years in prison.

The sentence upheld was issued by Mahala Criminal Court. The incident occurred when the convicts had set up an ambush to arrest a gang headed by a criminal called “Shanira” in 2015.

A fire exchange took place while the victims were driving in a car passing by the same road.
