CAIRO – 06 June 2017: The Egyptian consulate in Doha will open its doors until 11 pm on Monday, in order to serve Egyptian’s emergency requests, following Egypt’s decision to sever ties with Qatar.
“All consular transactions will be resumed on Tuesday morning, starting from 10 am until 12:30 pm,” Egyptian embassy’s official Facebook page announced last Monday.
Greece has agreed to Egypt’s request to stand as its representative in Qatar, amid the rift between Egypt and the Gulf country.
Egypt, along with Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Libya’s eastern-based government and Maldives severed diplomatic ties with Doha on Monday, over accusations levelled against Qatar of backing terrorist groups.
