Extraordinary man uses drill to clean up his ears

CAIRO – 6 March 2019: Egypt Today met with Mahalla's extraordinary rickshaw driver, Walid Mohamed Sobhy, 31, who uses a drill to clean up his ears.


“Since childhood, I have suffered severe pain in my ears and visited several ear, nose and throat (ENT) doctors but in vain. Thus, I tended to use different sizes of drills to feel comfortable,” Sobhy told Egypt today.

Sobhy added that he even used electric drills to clean his ears and remove earwax, revealing that he also sometimes uses car scrappers to feel more relaxed and comfortable.

Sobhy assured that such weird habits never harm or pain him. On the contrary, his pain vanishes and he feels healthier.

“I do not need to visit ENT’s doctors anymore. Surprisingly, I myself have conducted a surgery in my ears, standing before a mirror and using a drill and a nail without any external guidance or assistance,” Sobhy further elaborated.

The rickshaw driver is the key breadwinner of an eight-member family. Sobhy is newly married and has two kids; he affirmed that his two children do not fear him because of his illogical acts.
