Six Arab governments cut ties with Qatar – Compilation by Egypt Today
CAIRO – 5 June 2017: Six Arab governments cut diplomatic ties with Qatar Monday over the Gulf state’s “continuous support for terrorism.”
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Yemen and the eastern government of Libya announced the severance of diplomatic ties early Monday morning.
Tensions between Qatar and the other Arab Gulf states, as well as Egypt, increased after Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani directed incendiary statements to four Arab countries - Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
