CAIRO - 5 June 2017: Qatari authorities have not taken any measures regarding Egyptians in Qatar following the decision to cut diplomatic relations, Egypt’s Ministry of Immigration and Expatriates stated Monday, quoting the head of the Egyptian community in Qatar, Mohamed el-Iraqi.

Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram communicated with Iraqi to check on the Egyptian community in Qatar, the statement read.

Iraqi further stated that they have not been informed of any intention to end contracts with Egyptian workers.

Makram also made sure there are still active flights from Doha to Egypt, operated by countries that have not cut their ties with the former, according to the statement.
The Ministry of Immigration launched a hot line to receive any urgent requests or demands from Egyptians in Qatar, calling for the citizens to communicate with the Ministry or with her in person.

The Ministry operated two phone numbers: 19787 and 00233036436.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain announced cutting their diplomatic ties with Qatar, early Monday, over "its continuous support for terrorism.”
