CAIRO – 5 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi is set to meet France's Defense Minister Sylvie Goulard Monday to address enhancing bilateral cooperation between Egypt and France, in light of the strategic relations they share, especially in the military field.
The meeting, held at Ittihadiya Palace, aims at intensifying the coordination between the two states to enable them to face common challenges, atop of which is the threat of terrorism, according to a presidential statement.
The meeting will tackle military and security cooperation between the two states and the recent developments in the region, the statement read.
The visit marks the first encounter between Sisi and Goulard, who took office on May 17, following the elections of French President Emmanuel Macron.
