SHARM EL SHEIKH - 24 February 2019: Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Saturday ordered the release of a number of Egyptian imprisoned in Saudi Arabia in different cases, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
"In recognition by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the brotherly Egyptian people, and in conjunction with his official visit to Egypt, he ordered granting pardon to and release of a number of Egyptian citizens detained and imprisoned in the Kingdom in a number of different cases in accordance with the relevant rules and procedures in force or in violation of the rules of residency who are unable to pay the legally prescribed fines so that they can return to their country, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and that the Egyptian embassy in the kingdom shall follow up with the concerned authorities to ensure their speedy return to their brotherly country," a statement published by the Saudi News Agency read.
"President Abdel Fattah El Sisi valued this noble gesture by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques reflecting the great care paid by the kingdom's leadership to Egypt's government and people," it added.
