CAIRO – 4 June 2017: Egypt strongly condemned the London terror attack that killed at least seven people and injured 48 others at London Bridge and Borough Market late Saturday night, according to a Sunday statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This incident, the statement read, marks a new episode in the series of terrorist attacks recently witnessed around the world, “which confirms that all societies and all people are targeted by abhorrent terrorism.”
The statement stressed Egypt’s condolences for the government and people of the United Kingdom, calling for all countries to stand together to confront terrorism and whoever supports it through funding or armament.
Marking the second act of terrorism in London in less than two weeks, three attackers in a white van drove into a crowd of pedestrians on London Bridge Saturday evening, and then went on a stabbing rampage, bursting into restaurants and cafes in the nearby area of Borough Market.
The attack lasted almost eight minutes and the three suspects were reportedly shot dead by police.
