TUNIS, Feb 12 (MENA) - President Beji Caid Essebsi feted Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as capable of carrying out great work serving the African nations during his chairmanship of the African Union.
In statements to the Tunisian newspaper Alchourouk on Tuesday, he said "Egypt is in its right position now, President Sisi who managed to do a good job in his nation is capable of doing the same at the continental level."
During the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Essebsi underlined the key role of the African Union in realizing stability in the continent and confronting terrorism.
As for Syria's return to the Arab League, he said Tunisia is committed to the Arab decision and this needs a consensus among Arab nations.
He noted that the Libyan file will figure high in the upcoming Arab summit which his country will host in March.
