CAIRO, Feb 5 (MENA) - Public Business Sector Minister Hisham Tawfiq said that chairman of the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals and Medical Supplies Ahmed Hegazi will visit Chad next week to discuss the possibility of establishing a pharmaceutical factory there.

According to a statement issued Thursday, the minister said that Hegazi, during his visit to N'Djamena, will discuss registering Egypt's pharmaceutical products and their distribution in Chad.

In this regard, Tawfiq had a meeting with representatives of French company "Sanofi" to discuss boosting bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical field with a view to broadening the scope of the Egyptian pharmaceutical and medical companies' activities in the healthcare sector in Africa.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in the African market and exporting more pharmaceutical products to African countries, topped by Chad and its five neighboring countries.

He added that he discussed with Chadian Ambassador to Egypt Al-Amin Al-Doudou Abdullah Al-Khattari means of boosting bilateral cooperation, particularly in the pharmaceutical domain.

Tawfiq added that he is currently studying the operation of a regular navigation line to East Africa, along with providing logistic services through the Egyptian International Transport and Trade Co. (Eittrans) with a view to promoting the volume of intra-African trade.
