The cat’s owner expressed her thanks and gratitude to the Mokattam police station for rescuing her cat.
Khankan uploaded on Facebook photos of the different stages of rescuing Shafiqa, thanking the police forces for their great efforts.
Rescuing Shafiqa got massive attention on social media, where many admired the humanitarian act.
Shafiqa’s tale reminded us of the bizarre tale of Biso, the cat who got stuck underground at Mohamed Naguib Station. Biso was squeezed at a tiny hole at one of Mohamed Naguib station’s walls for 5 years.

The cat survived thanks to Uncle Abdo who used to feed it up scraps of food and water every day before it was rescued by the police forces to be freed finally, according to Cairo Post.
Moreover, animal rights activist Mounira Shehata told newspapers, “After removing the wall, the cat was completely scared and ran out the street. The smell was unbearable; it was like a tomb.”
