CAIRO - 8 January 2018: Minister of Endowments Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa told press on Tuesday that the International Academy for Training and Rehabilitation will be inaugurated on January 20 to upskill young preachers.
The minister had earlier announced that the cost of the project is LE100 million ($5.6 million) and will be built over an area of 11,000 square meters in 6th of October City. It will have translation, and computer labs as well as dorms.
The minister revealed on Tuesday that 50 preachers would join the academy while 200 others were granted master’s scholarships. The minister praised preachers belonging to Luxor and Aswan for their high qualifications.
Gomaa stated that the ministry is donating LE100 million to the “Decent House” initiative launched by the Ministry of Social Solidarity targeting poor families. The project is taking place in five governorates including Aswan. The minister said that half the sum was paid, while the other half will be delivered shortly.
Gomaa added that the ministry has secured 250 tons of food for needy citizens.
