CAIRO, Dec 23 (MENA) – The House of Representatives’ housing committee approved on Saturday a presidential decree on a loan worth 70 million Kuwaiti dinars for establishing a sewage treatment plant in Sharqia governorate.
Signed between Egypt and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development on August 8, 2018, the deal would contribute to funding a project for the establishment of the Bahr el Baqar sewage treatment plant in Sharqia.
Head of the committee Alaa Wali said the agreement aimed at supporting the country’s plan targeting the development of Sinai through optimizing the available water resources in Egypt.
Under the deal, five million m3/d of water will be pumped for the cultivation of 330,000 feddans east of the Suez Canal.
