CAIRO - 20 December 2018: The Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (EAEA) signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Russian Federal Nuclear Center (RFNC) headquartered in Dubna, Russia.
The deal was signed on the fringe of the 14th Arab Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy, hosted from December 16 to 20 in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh.
The conference, organized by the Arab Atomic Energy Agency in collaboration with the EAEA, is being held under the auspices of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.
The deal provides for holding discussions on boosting cooperation between the EAEA and the Russian center, said EAEA Chairman Atef Abdul Hamid.
The two sides agreed to organize a visit by a high-level Egyptian delegation, during 2019, to the Russian center to get acquainted with its capabilities and activities, Abdul Hamid added.
