CAIRO – 20 December 2018: The Media Center of the Cabinet deniedall the rumors regarding spending LE 140 billion on sewage projects in the New Administrative Capital.

The company of the New Administrative Capital denied all these rumors,stressing that this sum of money was spent on all the basic facilities of the New Administrative Capital, including water networks, sewage, infrastructure, and other facilities.

Additionally, the budget of the New Administrative Capital is totally separated from the state's budget. The New Administration Capital Company depends mainly on the revenues of lands sold to different investors,spending it on construction.

An official spokesman of the company stated that: “Such rumors aim to distract the attention away from the immense investments and progress we achieved over the last three years.”

The proposed New Administrative Capital of Egypt is a large scale project announced by Egyptian Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly at the Egypt Economic Development Conference on March 13, 2015.

The city is planned to consist of 21 residential districts and 25 "dedicated districts".The new capital will also have a park double the size of New York City's Central Park, artificial lakes, about 2,000 educational institutions, a technology and innovation park, 663 hospitals and clinics, 1,250 mosques and churches, 40,000 hotel rooms, a major theme park four times the size of Disneyland, 90 square kilometers of solar energy farms, an electric railway link with Cairo, and a new international airport at the site of the Egyptian Air Force's existing Wadi al-Jandali Airport.
