CAIRO – 14 December 2018: Major General Radi Abdul Muti, Head of Consumer Protection, said that companies are legally obliged to withdraw expired medicines from the market, adding that those that refuse to do so will be shut down.
Muti went on to explain that there is coordination in place between the agency responsible for Consumer Protection and the Syndicate of Pharmacists on the obligation of companies to withdraw drugs expired from the market through the force of the law, where it punishes and establishes controls for the counter-drugs of unknown origin and expired.
