CAIRO – 13 December 2018: Egyptian doctors applying for the Egyptian board training took a unified online test to determine their level, which is applied for the first time in Egypt, according to the Compulsory Egyptian Medical Training Authority Head, Yasser Soliman.

In a Wednesday statement, Soliman said that this board certificate test was decided to be conducted online to save doctors the trouble of traveling to undergo the exam in Cairo. “This comes in line with President Abdel Fatah al Sisi's directions to train doctors in accordance with the international standards,” Soliman added.

Moustafa al-Hudhud, head of the Egyptian Board for Pediatrics, said this step is “the first of its kind” and a positive step to enhance Egyptian doctors' training.

Applying for the Egyptian Board Certificate was launched in January 2018. This certificate has several medical specialties including general medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics and general surgery.

The duration of the course is five years; it is considered an additional certificate for doctors alongside the basic academic studies and training.
