CAIRO – 29 May 2017: The Dokki Misdemeanor Court in Giza postponed on Monday the trial of Khaled Ali, ex-2012 presidential candidate to July 3, 2017. The trial was postponed upon Ali’s request for more time to review the related documents to the case.

Ali was accused of committing an offensive finger gesture celebrating the rule to reject the transfer of Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia.

Last week, the Dokki's prosecutor ordered to release Ali for a bail of LE 1,000 after receiving the forensic evidence report. The report confirmed Ali's appearance in the video attached to the indictment and confirmed the incident.
