CAIRO – 29 May 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi affirmed Egypt's keenness on consolidating the partnership with Russia in economic, trade and industrial fields by welcoming the projects that two the countries cooperate in their implementation, according to a Monday presidential.
Projects such as the Dabaa nuclear power station and the establishment of a Russian industrial zone in Egypt, which are the joint projects will give a strong boost to the relations between the two countries, the statement added.
Sisi met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu at Cairo-based Presidential Palace on Monday. Attendees also comprised of Minister of Defence and Military Production Sidki Sobhi and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, in addition to the Russian ambassador in Cairo, and vice-ministers of foreign affairs and defense of Russian.
The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, beside regional and international issues, including the crises of Syria, Libya and Yemen; the meeting will also tackle the international counter-terrorism efforts.
