CAIRO – 6 November 2018: The 3rd session of World Youth forum kicked off on Monday in Sharm El- Sheikh under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the participation of more than five thousand youths from around the world.
A key session, entitled “The aftermath of wars and conflicts, mechanisms of rebuilding countries and societies”, was organized on the sidelines of the session with the attendance of a number of young aspiring figures, officials and ministers in different fields.
Hassan Abu Taleb, a consultant at Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, said during his speech, “Rebuilding countries in the Middle East is more complex than reconstruction after World War II.”
For her part, Mariia Levchenko, executive director and founder of the Youth for Global Progress in Ukraine also added during her speech that, “Refugees are not the burden of today, but rather the investment for tomorrow.”
The opening of the World Youth Theater took place on Friday, Nov. 2; the actual discussion sessions started Nov. 4, where participants discussed a number of issues, including inter-cultural dialogue, the role of world leaders in building and sustaining peace, the role of soft power in countering ideological extremism and terrorism, and water security in the wake of climate change.
The forum's closing session and the announcement of the World Youth Forum 2018 recommendations will take place on Nov. 6.
