Sisi talks counter-terrorism with Russia's Foreign, Defense Ministers

CAIRO – 29 May 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at Cairo-based Presidential Palace on Monday.

The meeting will discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries, beside regional and international issues, including the crises of Syria, Libya and Yemen; the meeting will also tackle the international counter-terrorism efforts.

Both Russian ministers arrived in Cairo Sunday evening; they will meet with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Defense Minister Sedki Sobhi the third round of the 2+2 strategic talks between two states on Monday.

Russia added Egypt to the five countries with which it holds such talks in November 2013, according to a Sunday statement by Egypt’s Foreign Ministry.
